Eating from an animal slaughtered as a vow for other than Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 12996 )
Q: A person made a vow to slaughter a sheep or a bull for other than Allah, and we know that a vow is for Allah and not for other than Him. When the one who made the vow wanted to slaughter the sheep or the bull, he said: "In the name of Allah." Is it permissible for us to eat from that sheep or not, after he said: "In the name of Allah" when slaughtering the sheep and the bull? Will the meat be pure, or will it be impure because of his vow for other than Allah? Please give me a ruling, may Allah reward you with good?
A : It is forbidden to make a vow for other than Allah the Exalted with a sheep, a bull, or anything else, and it is not obligatory to fulfill it; because it is a sin. It is established that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever vows to obey Allah, let him obey Him, and whoever vows to disobey Allah, let him not disobey Him.من نذر أن يطيع الله فليطعه، ومن نذر أن يعصي الله فلا يعصه
Sunan Ibn Majah 2126Sahih (Darussalam)
As for slaughtering an animal as a vow for other than Allah, it is not permissible to eat from it, even if the name of Allah is mentioned over it at the time of slaughter, because it was slaughtered for other than Allah. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
