The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 4243 )
Q5: I am a doctor, and my profession requires treatment with narcotics sometimes, such as morphine, cocaine, and Valium. What is the ruling in Islam regarding this, and also regarding dissection after death?
A5: It is not permissible to treat with what is forbidden; because the scriptural evidence indicating prohibition is established. Among this is what Abu Dawud narrated in his (Sunan), from the hadith of Abu al-Darda' who said, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sunan Abi Dawud 3874Da'if (Al-Albani) . And he mentioned
al-Bukhari in his (Sahih) from Ibn Mas'ud : (Indeed, Allah has not made your healing in what He has forbidden to you), and in the (Sunan) from Abu Hurayrah who said:Mishkat al-Masabih 4539 , and in (Sahih Muslim ) from Tariq ibn Suwayd al-Ja'fi al-Hadrami, or Suwayd ibn Tariq, , and in the (Sunan) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about wine being put in medicine? He said: Sunan ad-Daraqutni 27:88 . Narrated by Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi . And in (Sahih Muslim ) from Tariq ibn Suwayd al-Hadrami who said: . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

God’s messenger prohibited unclean medicine
نهى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الدواء الخبيثThat he asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about wine, so he forbade him, or he disliked that he make it, so he said: I only make it for medicine. He said: It is not a medicine, but it is a disease.
أنه سأل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الخمر فنهاه، أو كره أن يصنعها، فقال: إنما أصنعها للدواء، فقال: إنه ليس بدواء، ولكنه داءIt is a disease, and it is not a medicine.
إنها داء، وليست بدواءI said: O Messenger of Allah, in our land there are grapes that we press, should we drink from them? He said: No. So I returned to him, I said: We seek healing for the sick with it. He said: Indeed, that is not a healing, but it is a disease.
قلت: يا رسول الله، إن بأرضنا أعنابًا نعتصرها، أنشرب منها؟ قال: لا. فراجعته، قلت: إنا نستشفي للمريض بها. قـال: إن ذلك ليس بشفاء ولكنه داء
