They do not treat their father with kindness toward their mother

Fatwa number ( 2593 )
Q: My brothers and sisters gave their affection to my maternal half-brother, preferring him over my father, in order to win my mother's approval. When they saw that I was trying to be fair between my parents, they became hostile toward me and cut off ties with me, even though I had not cut off ties with them. Also, our father refuses for us to mix our money with the money of my maternal half-brother, fearing problems in the future. My father is now living alone, and he has reached the age of seventy years. He cooks for himself and cleans his house with his own hands. I am the eldest of his sons, I am forty years old, married, and I have four sons and five daughters. I have asked my father several times to live with me, but he has excused himself, claiming that the atmosphere of the Eastern Province and its society are not suitable for him, as he lives in Jazan , and I am in the Eastern Province , employed at the University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran for thirteen years. I ask you, may Allah reward you, to give your opinion on this problem, and whether I am rewarded for this, or should I leave my father, who is seventy years old, with no one beside him?
A: You have done well in striving for justice between your parents, even if your brothers are angry with you. There is no blame on you for not having your father live with you and for him remaining alone, managing his own affairs, as long as he is satisfied with you and does not need you. It is obligatory for you and your brothers to obey your father in not mixing your money with the money of
your maternal half-brother, to avoid the problems he fears may result from it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
