Giving charity to one's parents through a sacrificial animal

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The seventh question of Fatwa number ( 6949 )
Q 7: Is it permissible for me to give charity to my mother or father by slaughtering an animal, or is it not permissible? Some people here slaughter an animal every year for their father or mother. What is your opinion?
A 7: It is permissible to give charity to your father and mother through a sacrificial animal, provided you do not slaughter it at their graves, and provided you do not set a specific time for it that you habitually observe, such as the time their funeral procession left the house, or the time of their burial, or every week or year. Setting such a specific time is a religious innovation (bid'ah). As for the sacrifice on their behalf, it is slaughtered at its prescribed time. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
