I Committed to Hijab and My Family Mistreated Me

The first question of Fatwa No. ( 7533 )
Q1: I am a twenty-seven-year-old woman with a higher education, and I used to work in scientific research. However, Allah guided me, so I left my job and stayed at home, wearing the full Islamic dress covering my entire body—that is, the niqab. This became the cause of my suffering with my family, for they are all abandoning prayer, and I know the ruling on one who abandons prayer. Some of them use narcotics, they mock me, they curse the religion, and they caused me two full years of suffering. A religiously committed young man proposed to me, but they caused my engagement to be annulled. Then another young man proposed, and the marriage contract was concluded with him, and the consummation will take place soon, if Allah wills. He is averse to all these causes, and among them is listening to the radio and television in a strange manner, and free mixing between women and men is facilitated among them, between relatives and neighbors. For this reason, he said to me before the contract—or more accurately, I said to him: that I would not visit my family after marriage. My intention was not absolute—that is, at least during the festivals. Then he repeated this to me after the contract and told me that the agreement was final—that is, that I would not visit them at all. I am thus between two things: obeying my husband, and not being undutiful to my parents. Knowing that they are advanced in age, I am aware of the ruling on not obeying the husband and the ruling on undutifulness to parents. I am in need of knowing the ruling and the decision in this matter, knowing
that my husband is ready to implement the religious ruling in this if it is in my benefit, so I ask for a quick response.
A 1: Obey your husband in what is right, and cooperate with him in righteousness and piety. Visit your parents with your husband; be dutiful to them and maintain ties with them, while advising them with what is right and avoiding the sins they commit. This is based on His saying:[Luqman 31:14] up to His saying: [Luqman 31:15] And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness
وَوَصَّيْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُ وَهْنًا عَلَى وَهْنٍBut if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me
