His father mistreats his wife

Fatwa number ( 3882 )
Q: I am a man named (M. H. 'A. H), and I have a wife and five children from her. She is currently pregnant. I married two other women besides her, but due to my father, I separated from them. He is the one who started the problems between me and them and left them. Now this wife is the third, and she is kind to me and to my father. She treats him with kindness, but he treats her with harshness and grumpiness. He causes problems between me and my wife, and he intends nothing but problems between us. He constantly complains about me to the neighborhood people, and he wants to show enmity between me and my wife. He wants me to be a slave in his hand, and he wants me to treat him as if I were a child and not a man bearing responsibility. So, should I obey my father and leave my wife and children, or should I keep my wife and children and disobey my father in this situation?
A: If the situation is as you described, then you are not obligated to obey your father in
that; because obedience is only in what is good. You should try to please him as much as you can, and I advise her to treat him with the best manner, according to her ability. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
