Advising His Mother Regarding the Hijab
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 11004 )
Q2: I advised my mother regarding the hijab, but she did not comply. Sometimes my sister’s husband comes to our house, and she sits him with my wife. Is it a sin for me if I rebuke her or speak to her about this?
J2: It is obligatory for you to be dutiful to your mother and to treat her well in word and deed, and to explain to her—without scolding her—that it is not permissible for a woman to expose herself to her sister's husband, and to present this fatwa to her. If she complies, praise be to Allah; if she refuses, then order your wife not to obey your mother in exposing herself to your sister's husband, and prevent her from sitting with him. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
