The ruling on unlawful sexual intercourse and whether it is permissible for one who is far from his family
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 4765 )
Q1: What is the ruling on zina, and is it permissible for people who work in European countries and spend a year or two away from their families, meaning their wives, to commit zina or not? Now, some of them cannot bring their families to Europe because they have problems, or they have elders, or they have other problems.
A 1: It is forbidden for a Muslim to commit unlawful sexual intercourse, even if he is away from his wife for a year, two years, or more. He must travel to his wife to satisfy his desire with her and chaste himself with what Allah has made lawful for him. If he is unable to travel to her, and unable to bring her to his place of work due to something that prevents that, let him marry another woman at his place of work, a Muslim woman or a free, chaste woman from the People of the Book, as Allah has prescribed, to chaste himself with her. If that is not feasible for him, let him fast, for fasting weakens his desire or prevents him from satisfying it in what Allah has forbidden him.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
