The Ruling on the Child of Zina
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 6499 )
Q1: What is the status of the child of zina in Islam in our time?
A1: His ruling is the ruling of his mother; he follows her according to the correct opinion of the scholars. If she is Muslim, he is Muslim, and if she is a disbeliever, he is a disbeliever. He is attributed to her, not to the fornicator, and what occurred between his mother and the one who committed zina with her does not harm him. This is based on the saying of Allah, the Exalted:[Al-An'am 6:164] And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
