Q4: Some people in the regions of Tihama cultivate tobacco, and this is very common in Tihama . The person who cultivates tobacco says: I cultivate it and sell it, but I do not smoke it, so its cultivation and sale are not forbidden for me as long as I do not smoke it. What is the ruling on its sale and cultivation if he does not smoke it, but sells it and eats its price?
A4: The cultivation, sale, and purchase of tobacco are forbidden; because that is cooperation in sin and aggression. And Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Ma'idah 5:2] And the price obtained from it is forbidden. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
