Expenditure from the trade of tobacco
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 7756 )
Q3: What is the ruling on trading in tobacco, shisha, and the like , when the seller knows that it is forbidden, and he does not smoke tobacco either, and he is only seeking his money? Is this money lawful for him? Is it permissible for him to spend from this same money, or to perform Hajj with it, or to do any act of righteousness?
A3: Trading in tobacco, shisha, and the like of forbidden things is forbidden. The money earned from them is impure and forbidden. Expenditure on Hajj and acts of righteousness must be from good money. However, if he spends from it on Hajj or the like, his Hajj is valid, but he is sinful. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
