Divorced his wife twice

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 137 )
Q: The content of the question, with its explanation, after he was summoned and appeared on the date 22/5/1392 AH: A quarrel occurred between me and my wife (H.A.)
and I hit her, and a fight ensued between me and her brother. I divorced her with one divorce, then I took her back, and she stayed with me for two years. Then a dispute arose between me and her brother because he incited my wife against me, so I divorced her with only one divorce.
I took her back after the second divorce. This is all that happened on my part, so I ask for your ruling.

A: If the matter is as you described in your question, that you divorced your wife (H.A.) with one divorce, then took her back, then divorced her after a period with one divorce, then took her back, and your taking her back was in the presence of two just witnesses—then she is your wife, provided that you took her back during the waiting period. However, you have only one divorce remaining with her. If you divorce her after that, she will be divorced three times and will not be lawful for you again except after another husband, with a new contract and a new bridal gift, with her consent. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
