Fatwa number ( 1010 )
Q: The questioner married a woman from Yemen , then he left Yemen for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia . After three months of leaving his homeland, messages of deception came to him in the name of his parents, so he divorced his wife three times based on the false words that reached him, and he would not have divorced her had it not been for that. The divorce took place on 26/2/1395 AH, then a confirming message from his father came to me dated 5/4/1395 AH. Now I want to take back my wife in accordance with
the Islamic Shari'ah.

A: If what the questioner mentioned is true—that deceptive false messages were sent to him and he divorced his wife on that basis, and then it became clear to him through his father's message that the messages sent to him before were false—if that is the case, then the divorce that occurred on his part is void and not to be considered. Accordingly, the wife remains in his possession as she was before this divorce. He does not need to take her back, nor any procedure other than informing his wife and her family that she is still his wife. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
