The ruling on a woman declaring herself forbidden

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 14775 )
Q: I have a wife and five children from her. One night, a misunderstanding occurred between us, and my wife stood up, pointed her finger at me, and cursed me three times in a row. Then she declared me forbidden to her three more times, saying: "You are forbidden to me; you are not lawful to me from this day forward." At that point, I left the house and went to my second wife's house. I ask your Eminence to issue a ruling on what my wife did, knowing that she is waiting for me to return to the house so that I can take her to her parents' home, insisting on not living with me and her children. I ask for a prompt response with what you see fit, and may Allah preserve you.
A. A woman does not pronounce divorce, whether using the word "divorce" or "forbidden"; rather, divorce is pronounced by the husband. Therefore, what your wife did does not result in divorce; she remains your wife. She owes an expiation for an oath, which is: feeding ten
poor people from the middle of your food, or clothing them, or freeing a slave. Whoever cannot find the means to do so must fast for three days. It is not permissible for her to curse, whether her husband, her son, or any other Muslim; based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in what was narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim
Cursing a believer is like killing himلعن المؤمن كقتله
and his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
The invoker of curse would neither be intercessor nor witness on the Day of Resurrection.لا يكون اللعانون شفعاء ولا شهداء يوم القيامة
Sahih Muslim 2598a
narrated by Muslim. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
