Fatwa number ( 6627 )
Q: On Sunday, corresponding to 10/1/1404 AH, I was in a state of anger, and a word came out of me regarding my wife: (If you grow old, you are like my sister, and if you are young, you are like my sister) What is the ruling?
A: If the situation is as described, it is obligatory for you, before returning to her, to free a believing slave. If you do not find one, then fast two consecutive months. If you are unable to do so, then feed sixty poor people, giving each poor person half a sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg). And seek forgiveness from Allah
and repent to Him from this statement; because it is from the evil and falsehood that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has forbidden. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
