What is forbidden is entering his sister's house

Fatwa number ( 7424 )
Q: My problem is this: a quarrel occurred between my wife and my sister, meaning:
some words were exchanged that had no real meaning. When I gathered my wife and my sister to clarify some of their words, each of them swore that she had not said them. My wife says that my sister told her that she was speaking on the telephone. When I asked my sister about it, she denied saying this. Out of much anger, a word came out of me that I did not intend, which was: I say, by the forbidden, I will no longer enter your house, meaning: my sister's house and her husband's. When my community learned of the matter, they were angry and said: We will not enter your house until you enter your sister's house. Now, for about three months, I have not entered my sister's house, knowing that my sister is always with us in our house, visiting us, and we have not gone to their house. Please advise us.
A: If the situation is as you described, and if you intended by the prohibition the divorce of your wife if you entered your sister's and her husband's house—then your wife is divorced with one divorce by your entering their house, and you may take her back as long as she is in the waiting period, provided it is not the third of three divorces. And if you intended to prevent yourself from entering their house, not to divorce your wife—then you must enter their house and pay the expiation for an oath, which is: feeding ten poor people, or clothing them, or freeing a believing slave. If you cannot do that, then fast for three days.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
