A cyclist was hit and the driver fled: what should be done
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of fatwa number ( 18390 )
Q 1: I was driving on the expressway where the road was under repair and there was a person in front of me riding a motorcycle, and I hit him from behind unintentionally, and I did not stop , and with me in the car were a group of my cousins who advised me to stop, but I did not stop. Knowing that more than eight years have passed since this accident, what do you advise me to do? May Allah reward you with good.
A 1: It is obligatory for you to go to the traffic police and tell them the truth so that they can search for the person you hit, if he is alive, or for his heirs, if he is dead, and you must do what is required of you as a result of the accident, unless they permit you otherwise. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
