Dwelling with a Brother
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 11246 )
Q: I live with one of my brothers and work for a small salary. I do not pay him anything toward the household expenses, and if I do pay something, he insists that I take back the value of what I paid for anything I bought for the house. I am afraid that I may have something to answer for in this. Please advise us, may Allah reward you with good.
A: If the matter is as you described, then you owe nothing, as long as your brother is content to spend on you while you are with him. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
