Giving Zakah to a Brother

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 19299 )
Q1: A man had a debt of approximately one million riyals. He paid seven hundred thousand riyals, and three hundred thousand remained, which he was unable to pay. His three brothers came and each paid one hundred thousand on his behalf until they settled the debt for their brother. Do these brothers deserve any of the zakah on the basis that they are among those in debt, or not?
A1 : These brothers do not deserve any of the zakah unless they are poor,
and their settling the debt for their brother is considered a donation, not a debt for which it is permissible to take zakah. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
