The woman who does not breastfeed her children: does she sin?
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourteenth question of Fatwa No. ( 5953 )
Q 14: Some women leave their children unbreastfed in order to preserve their health, so they do not breastfeed them, and others do not complete the period of breastfeeding. Is there any sin on them for that? I ask for the answer. May Allah guide you.
A 14: It is obligatory for the woman to maintain the breastfeeding of her children and the causes of their health. She is not permitted to rely on imported milk or anything else except with her husband's consent after consulting with him, and provided there is no harm to the children. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
