Depicting Intercourse and Its Related Matters
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 22659 )
Q: What is the ruling on depicting the marital intercourse and its related matters that occur between spouses? Knowing that fatwas have been issued by
some of those considered scholars in some countries permitting it, on the condition that the tape is kept safe so that it does not leak to anyone, and you will find attached a copy of one of the fatwas issued on this matter. What is the opinion of the honorable members of the Committee, may Allah preserve them and make them a treasure for Islam and its people?
A: Depicting what occurs between spouses during marital intercourse is strictly forbidden; due to the generality of the evidence prohibiting depiction, and because of the harms and evils that depicting marital intercourse leads to, which are not hidden, and which no religion, reason, or moral character approves of. Therefore, it is obligatory to stay away from that, and to be careful to protect one’s honor and private parts, for that is part of faith and the uprightness of the innate disposition, and it is what Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, loves. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
