Intercourse While Listening to the Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 16221 )
Q1: What is the ruling on having intercourse with one's wife while listening to the Qur'an recited from the radio? The doubt that arises in my mind while I am in this state is driving the accursed Shaytan out of the house.
A1: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught his Ummah what is to be said when a man has intercourse with his wife. It is narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
If anyone who means to have intercourse with his wife says “In the name of Allaah, O Allaah, keep us away from the devil and keep the devil away from what You hast provided us.” It will be ordained that no devil will ever harm the child born to them.أما لو أن أحدكم يقول حين يأتي أهله: بسم الله، اللهم جنبنا الشيطان وجنب الشيطان ما رزقتنا، ثم قدر بينهما في ذلك ولد لم يضره الشيطان أبدا
Sunan Abi Dawud 2161Sahih (Al-Albani)
It is agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim. The required course is to restrict oneself to what has been transmitted. Therefore, listening to the Qur'an recited from the radio during intercourse for the purpose of driving Shaytan out of the house is an addition to what is prescribed and is not permissible. The great Qur'an is more exalted in status and more sacred in sanctity than to have its listening employed in the aforementioned state.
And Allah knows best. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
