Listening to the news instead of the Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 7108 ):
Q3: While driving or sitting at home, we often hear verses of the Noble Qur'an being recited, but a person may need to listen to something else, such as the news, or read the newspaper, due to a lack of time to listen to dhikr and do such things in order. Is turning off the radio or other devices for the purpose of listening to the news or reading newspapers considered turning away from the remembrance of Allah, and what is the solution in such a case?
A3: There is no blame on listening to the news and reading newspapers instead of turning on the radio to the Qur'an; because everything has its time, and this does not include turning away from the Qur'an or abandoning it, if the believer has other times in which he reads
the Qur'an or listens to the Qur'an radio. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
