Q: Is listening to the Noble Qur'an better, or is reciting it better, and what is the ruling of the religion in this matter?
A : Both reciting the Noble Qur'an and listening to it contain much good. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard the Qur'an from Ibn Mas'ud and others, but reciting the Noble Qur'an carries more reward; due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2910Hasan (Darussalam) . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

[Whoever recites a letter] from Allah's Book, then he receives the reward from it, and the reward of ten the like of it. I do not say that Alif Lam Mim is a letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter.
