Did he have to do anything after marrying her, given that more than one person had proposed to her?

The eighth question of Fatwa No. ( 5619 )
Q 8: A man proposed to a virgin woman, and he was among a group of young men competing to propose to her. In the end, this man married her based on her consent and the consent of all her family, in accordance with the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). They are now living a good life and have been blessed with children. However, this man’s conscience still torments him out of fear that he may have proposed to her after his Muslim brother’s proposal, and that he may have incurred sin because of it. Is he required to pay an expiation if he is certain of this, or is there anything else he must do?
A 8: He owes no expiation. If he knows that he proposed to her after his brother’s proposal, he should seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Allah, for repentance wipes out what came before it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
