Shaking hands with one's wife's mother and one's paternal uncles' wives

Fatwa number ( 14633 )
Q: Is it permissible for me to shake hands with my wife's mother, and is it permissible for me to shake hands with the wives of my father's uncles? Knowing that they are elderly, is it valid for me to shake hands with an elderly woman, and is it permissible to shake hands with the head instead of the hand? Some people say: There is no harm in a woman placing her hand on your head to greet you, especially if she is an old woman.
A: First: It is permissible for a man to shake hands with his wife's mother and greet her, because she is one of her mahrams (a relative he may not marry). Second: It is not permissible for a man to shake hands with the wives of his uncles or his father's uncles, even if they are elderly, because they are not among his mahrams. Third: It is permissible for a person to kiss the head of an elderly man, a scholar, or a pious person, as a sign of respect for them, and likewise to kiss an elderly woman on the head if she is one of his mahrams.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
