If a sick woman has no mahram, may she travel to visit the hospital?

Fatwa number ( 12835 )
Q: I am a sick girl, and I have appointments at the hospital in Riyadh, and my treatment is not available here. My father passed away a long time ago, and when my appointment comes, I carry a great burden; because I cannot find anyone to take me to Riyadh . I have two brothers from my father, but they have refused to take me for four years. I am treated and follow up every two or four months; perhaps they have not gone more than three times. And if they do take me, they leave me there for a week or more. I also have an uncle who refuses to take me. I have a job that I need for my circumstances, and they have threatened me not to be absent for more than two days. My sister’s and brother’s children are small
and their parents do not allow them to go with me. These are my complete circumstances. What is your opinion on my traveling by plane without a mahram? And I am, praise be to Allah, a balanced girl who wears the hijab that covers, and my circumstances are difficult.

A: It is not permissible for you to travel without a mahram; because it is established that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
A woman should not travel except with a Dhu-Mahramلا تسافر المرأة إلا مع ذي محرم
Sahih al-Bukhari 1862
. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
