The requirement of a mahram for travel

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 17381 )
Q3: It is known that a woman’s ‘Umrah or Hajj is not valid unless a mahram is with her. Is the intention that he must be with her during the journey to the Noble Makkah, or while she is performing the ‘Umrah or Hajj, or both? I sometimes, not always, when we arrive in Makkah , perform ‘Umrah alone. Is this permissible? I go alone to the Sacred Mosque to pray while I am with my family in Noble Makkah , or my mother or another woman goes with me, but there is no man with us, as the men go to the Sacred Mosque together and the women also go to the Sacred Mosque together.
And sometimes my mother or one of my sisters is not present in the place where we are staying, so I am forced to go to the Sacred Mosque alone so that I do not miss the prayer. Is this permissible?

A3: There is no harm in a woman going from her home in Makkah to the Sacred Mosque, and praying and performing ‘Umrah alone if she is safe from fitnah; because there is no prohibition; for the mahram is only required during travel. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
