Her father obliges her to uncover her head in accordance with the customs of the country, contrary to her husband's wishes

Fatwa number ( 15693 )
Q: I have a righteous wife , and praise be to Allah, she is God-fearing in all matters of her religion, except that she finds some difficulty from her parents. They order her to uncover herself in front of their relatives who are not her mahrams, and to kiss and shake hands with them. Her parents demand this, and when she excuses herself by saying that it is not permissible and is forbidden, and tries to convince them with kind words, they refuse to listen to her. They say: These are their customs and they cannot leave them; because their relatives would laugh at them if she covered herself. My wife and I have tried to advise them and guide them to what is good, and we have given them useful tapes and recorded the program (Nur 'ala al-Darb) for them. They burn those tapes with fire and destroy them, and they take away from my wife any of those tapes she has in her possession, and beat her severely until she goes out in front of men and kisses and shakes hands with them. All of this happened to
my wife in her father's house under compulsion, without her consent. Now, Your Eminence, I have taken my wife to my house after paying her mahr. My question is: Is it permissible for me to prevent her from visiting them, since her visiting them leads to these forbidden matters being imposed on her by compulsion? Or what should I do, Your Eminence? I have become confused in my affair, so I ask Your Eminence to inform me.

A: If the matter is as mentioned, it is permissible for you to prevent your wife from visiting them; because of the evil that results from the visit, namely her uncovering herself to non-mahrams. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
