Lying by a wife to her husband
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 5696 )
Q2: Her daughter, during her youth, did not pay off her debt. When she got married and her circumstances changed, she took her gold watch and gold ring, which were her property from her days of being single, and wanted to sell them to pay off her debt, but she did not tell her husband the truth; she told him that they had been lost . What is the ruling of the Shari'ah regarding
this, and what is the solution?
A2: If the situation is as described, she owes nothing for selling her property and paying off her debt, and there is no blame on her in such a case; for Muslim narrated in his (Sahih) from Umm Kulthum bint 'Uqbah that she said: And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

I did not hear the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permit lying in anything except in three cases: war, reconciliation between people, and a man's speech to his wife, and a woman's speech to her husband
لم أسمع النبي -صلى الله عليه وسلم- يرخص في شيء من الكذب إلا في ثلاث: الحرب، والإصلاح بين الناس، وحديث الرجل إلى امرأته، وحديث المرأة لزوجها
