The second question of Fatwa No. ( 13959 )
Q2: In our country, Morocco, and especially, wedding parties are held and people are invited to them. As you know, attending them is obligatory based on the hadith of the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), but many religious innovations and forbidden things take place at these occasions. So, is attending them obligatory, or does the obligation drop?
A2: If the person invited to the wedding feast can prevent the wrongs that are in it, he attends for that purpose; otherwise, he does not respond to the invitation. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
