Q5: Is it permissible to participate in a public party in the public parks, where we are invited, in the presence of one or more women, whether Muslim or non-Muslim, and given that the park is large with vast areas where one can sit, would a Muslim be sinful if he responded
to the invitation and sat far away, alone or with some of his brothers, from the place where the women are sitting with those they are sitting with, knowing that it is one party, and they see him and he sees them, and it is very likely that one or more of them will come and sit with them in the same place, out of curiosity or otherwise.
A5: It is not permissible for him to respond to the invitation to the celebration, even if he sits far away; because that celebration is a cause of fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) and is not free from evil, and in his responding to the invitation is a type of participation, approval, and silence regarding what others commit. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
