The call to good is not answered in the presence of evil

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa number ( 2894 )
Q3: You know that weddings these days involve a type of lack of wisdom and extravagance in food. Is it permissible for me to attend them, knowing in advance that there will be waste? And is it permissible for me to allow my wife to go to the wedding? Knowing that the groom and some of his male relatives, during the wedding procession—as they say—enter the women’s area. What is the ruling? May Allah reward you and grant you good.
A3: If the conditions of the wedding are as you described, with extravagance in the wedding feast and the mixing of unrelated men with women in what is called the wedding procession, then do not go to this wedding, and do not allow your wife to go to it, unless you have the strength and influence to change the evil and guide those present to the truth and what is correct. In that case, it is permissible for you to attend, and indeed it is obligatory for you to establish the truth and eliminate the evil. The same applies to your wife. And Allah is the Guide to the straight path. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
