Greeting a woman when she has placed a barrier between her hand and his

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 1742 )
Q: Is it permissible to greet women if she has placed her shaylah between her hand and the hand of the man who is greeting her?
A: It is not permissible for a man to place his hand in a greeting in the hand of a woman who is not his mahram, even if she has placed a barrier with her garment; for al-Bukhari narrated in his (Sahih), may Allah have mercy on him,
from 'Urwah from 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her), in her narration of the story of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taking the pledge of allegiance from the women. She said:
No, by Allah, his hand never touched a woman's hand in the pledge of allegiance; he did not take their pledge except by saying: I have taken your pledge regarding that.
, and what Ahmad narrated with a sound chain, from Umm 'Umaymah bint Riqqah who said:
I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) with a group of women to pledge allegiance to him, so he took from us what is in the Qur'an... until she said: We said: O Messenger of Allah, will you not shake our hands? He said: I do not shake hands with women; my saying to one woman is my saying to a hundred women.
, and in him (peace and blessings be upon him) we have the best example, as He who sent him said about him:
There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allah often.
[Al-Ahzab 33:21]
. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
