Exiting the State of Ihram

The second question of Fatwa No. ( 8833 )
Q2: If I want to invite my mother to visit and perform Hajj, if Allah wills, on the condition that she comes from Egypt and stays with me in al-Ta'if for a short time before the Hajj date, is it possible for her to arrive in her regular clothes, and then put on the ihram from our home in al-Ta'if when performing Hajj, with the intention being ihram for Hajj? Or is it obligatory for her to put on the ihram from Egypt and remain in a state of ihram until the performance of Hajj? What is the time for removing the ihram clothes? Is it after Hajj, the Tawaf of Ifadah, Sa'y, and cutting the hair—if the intention is Hajj only, i.e., Ifrad (complete exit, major exit)? Or does she not exit the state of ihram until after the three days of Tashreeq and stoning the pillars? Or is it after performing 'Umrah on the fourth day of sacrifice?
A2: Exiting the state of ihram for Hajj, for both men and women, occurs after stoning the Jamarat al-Aqabah and the man shaving his head or shortening his hair; for the woman, only shortening is prescribed. By doing so, everything that was forbidden to them by the ihram becomes permissible, except for sexual intercourse. As for the major exit, it occurs after completing the Tawaf of Ifadah and Sa'y, if Sa'y is required of them; by doing so, everything that was forbidden to them by the ihram becomes permissible, including sexual intercourse. As for exiting the state of ihram for 'Umrah, it occurs for both the man and the woman after
completing their Tawaf and Sa'y, and the man shaving his head or shortening his hair; for the woman, shortening is prescribed, not shaving. By doing so, everything that was forbidden to them by the ihram becomes permissible. The one who combines Hajj and 'Umrah (Qiran) has the same ruling regarding exiting the state of ihram as the one who performs Hajj alone (Ifrad). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
