A woman performing tawaf with her face uncovered in the presence of men
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 4151 )
Q1: Is it permissible for a woman performing Hajj or 'Umrah to perform tawaf around the Ka'bah with her face uncovered in the presence of non-mahram men?
A1: A woman's face is 'awrah (a part of the body that must be covered) and it is not permissible to uncover it to anyone other than a mahram (a relative one may not marry), neither during tawaf nor otherwise, whether she is in a state of ihram (the consecrated state of pilgrimage) or not. If she performs tawaf with her face uncovered, she commits a sin by uncovering her face, but her tawaf is valid. However, if she is in a state of ihram, she should cover it with something other than the niqab (the face veil).
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.
