The dispensation for breaking the fast for a pregnant woman in Ramadan

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 7785 )
Q: Regarding a pregnant woman during the days of Ramadan, is there a dispensation for her to break her fast? If there is, is it in specific months of the nine, or throughout all the months? And if there is a dispensation, is she required to make up the fasts or to feed people? What is the amount of feeding? Also, since we are in a hot land, does fasting have an effect on pregnant women? We hope for an answer from Allah, then from you.
A: If a pregnant woman fears harm to herself or her fetus from fasting in Ramadan, she should break her fast, and she must make up the fasts, whether that is in a hot country or not. This is not limited to specific days of her pregnancy; rather, the criterion is her condition and what she expects in terms of harm or difficulty, and the severity of the hardship, whether the days are few or many. This is because she is like a sick person. And Allah the Exalted said:
and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other daysوَمَنْ كَانَ مَرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَى سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ
[Al-Baqarah 2:185]

And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.
