Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 15822 )
Q2: I am a man married to a woman, and she gave birth to a child in the last ten days of Ramadan. She broke her fast for several days in the last ten days, and the second Ramadan came and she did not make them up out of negligence and ignorance. Please inform me what the consequences of this are, and what I should do. May Allah reward you with good?
A2: It is obligatory for the wife of the man mentioned to make up the number of days she broke her fast in Ramadan, and to pay an expiation for delaying the making up of the fast, for each day a quantity of half a sa' of wheat, dates, rice, or the like of the country's staple food, and its amount is one and a half kilograms.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
