Ruling on breaking the fast during the day in Ramadan for the sick person

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
This is a message from the sister questioner (Zaynab . A. F. D.) from Saudi Arabia. Sister Zaynab says in her message: She is a Muslim woman, praise be to Allah, who fasts and prays. She was struck by a severe illness on one of the days of Ramadan, and she was on the verge of death, so she broke her fast due to the severity of the illness, and then she made up this day. She asks if there is any sin on her for breaking her fast?
Answer: There is no sin on her; rather, she is rewarded. When a person is struck by illness and fasting becomes difficult for him, it is prescribed for him to break the fast, and he is rewarded for accepting the dispensation. Allah the Exalted says:
and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other daysوَمَنْ كَانَ مَرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَى سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ
[al-Baqarah:185] And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Allah the Most High loves that His permissions be practiced, just as he dislikes that disobedience to Him be committed.إن الله يحب أن تؤتى رخصه كما يكره أن تؤتى معصيته
Bulugh al-Maram 2:341
So when a person takes the dispensation in obedience to Allah and in accordance with what He has prescribed , he is rewarded and there is no sin on him. So you, O sister questioner, have done nothing wrong in breaking your fast because of your illness, and you have to make it up, and you have made it up, praise be to Allah. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
