It is not permissible for the agent to take anything from the price except with the permission of the principal

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 13520 )
Q1: One of my friends took money; he took it from his friend when he actually gave him 100 riyals to buy a specific item for him, and the shop owner knows him. The price of this item is originally 95 riyals in all shops, and he took it from his friend for 85 riyals. Is there anything wrong with this, and what is the ruling? He wants to return it but fears that his friend will be upset and not speak to him after that.
A1: Your friend who took the money is considered an agent for the one who gave it to him. The agent is a trustee, so it is not permissible for him to take anything from the price except with the permission of the principal. If he permits it, there is no harm; otherwise, he must return the remaining money to him. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
