Q7: I came by plane from Jordan to Jeddah , intending to go to the city of Bisha , and it was not my intention to perform 'Umrah, nor even to go to Makkah , but the plane to Bisha was delayed, so I stayed in Jeddah for two days, and at that time I entered the state of ihram from Jeddah and headed to Makkah to perform 'Umrah, is this 'Umrah valid?
A7: This ihram is valid; because you initiated it from Jeddah , and you did not intend 'Umrah before that, and there is no blood (sacrifice) due on you for it, and the basis for this is the hadith of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) who said:Sahih Muslim 1181a, agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim, and what the generality of this hadith indicates is that whoever intends to enter the state of ihram for 'Umrah, he enters it from Makkah , is not according to its apparent meaning, for there has come what indicates that whoever intends to enter the state of ihram for 'Umrah while he is
As for its apparent meaning, there is evidence indicating that one who intends to enter the state of ihram for 'Umrah while in Makkah must enter ihram from the state of ihram (al-hal). It was narrated from 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said:Sahih Muslim 1211m It is agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) specified Dhu'l-Hulaifa, for the people of Medina; Juhfa for the people of Syria; Qarn al-Manazil, for the people of Najd; Yalamlam for the people of Yemen (the Mawaqit) and those (Mawaqit) are also meant for those who live at these (places) and for those too who come from without towards them for the sake of Hajj or 'Umra. As for its apparent meaning, there is evidence indicating that one who intends to enter the state of ihram for 'Umrah while in Makkah must enter ihram from the state of ihram (al-hal). and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) encamped at Muhassab and called, Abd al-Rahman b. Abu Bakr. and said: Take out your sister from the precincts of the Ka'ba in order to put on Ihram for Umra and circumambulate the House. and I shall wait for you here. She said: So I went out and put on Ihram and then circumambulated the House, and (ran) between al-Safa and al-Marwa, and then we came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he was in his house in the middle of the night. He said: Have you completed your (rituals)? I said: Yes. He then announced to his Companions to march on. He came out, and went to the House and circumambulated it before the dawn prayer and then proceeded to Medina.
