Giving charity with the right of its owner in mind if identifying him is difficult

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 13164 )
Q2: I was tasked by my job to disburse allowance amounts for multiple periods, where one person is entitled to 113 riyals, or 226 riyals, or more for a single period. When I finished the disbursement, I was left with an amount of 330 riyals. The entitlement statement is signed by all the right-holders, and I do not know who its owner is. What should I do with it: should I give it as charity on behalf of its owners, and what is the solution?
A2: If the matter is as stated, the right-holders should be asked. If it is found that one of them is short, the remaining entitlement is paid to him. If it is difficult to identify the owner of the right, it is given as charity to the poor with the intention that it is on behalf of its owner. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
