Charity on behalf of the father

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 21568 )
Q3: I inform your Eminence that I give charity on behalf of my father to carry out his bequest. Is it considered ongoing charity? I know that he used to do it on the night of the middle of Sha'ban, and he did not know that its ruling is that it is a religious innovation. I have changed it, and I do it once in Ramadan and once on the Day of Sacrifice. Is it considered ongoing charity for him, and what is the best charity for the deceased, and is it permissible for me to establish a new charity from his estate such that its reward reaches him through the channel of ongoing charity? Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good?
A3: What your father bequeathed is covered by the general ruling on charity. You have done well in changing its time from the night of the middle of Sha'ban, and you are rewarded for that. Whatever you give in charity on behalf of your father, its reward reaches him. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
