Q4: Is it permissible to delay (postpone the payment of) zakah after the lunar year has elapsed, in order to seek out the true recipients? Because it has become difficult now to verify the existence of the poor and the needy in the sense that this term carries linguistically and in the Shari'ah.
A4: It is permissible to delay the payment of zakah for the purpose mentioned in the question; due to the caution involved in clearing one's conscience and delivering the right to its rightful recipient. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
