Discussion of matters in which people are lax regarding ritual purity.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and the Imam of the Pious, and upon his family and his Companions, and those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.
As for what follows: This is the monthly meeting that takes place on the evening of the third Saturday of every month, and this Saturday is the twentieth of the month of Muharram in the year 1419.
In this meeting, we speak about matters in which people are lax, but which are very important. Among them are matters related to the ritual prayer, for many people are lax in ritual purity. They do not care whether they perform the ablution in the prescribed manner or not, nor do they care whether they purify their clothing, their body, and their place of prayer from ritual impurity or not, nor do they care whether they perform a prayer in which they are tranquil and in which they do what is obligatory of recitation and remembrance or not.
As for ritual purity, there is no doubt that among the conditions of the ritual prayer, without which it is not valid, is that a person performs the ablution from the state of minor ritual impurity and performs the full ritual bath from the state of major ritual impurity. The evidence for this is the saying of Allah the Exalted:
O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles
[Al-Ma'idah 5:6]
This is the ablution. As for the full ritual bath, He said:
And if you are in a state of janabah, then purify yourselves وَإِنْ كُنْتُمْ جُنُباً فَاطَّهَّرُوا
[Al-Ma'idah 5:6]
meaning: purify the entire body.
Then Allah, Mighty and Majestic, made it easy for the servants in cases where a person is unable to perform the ablution with water or perform the full ritual bath with water, either due to illness or due to the absence of water. He granted the servants a dispensation to perform dry ablution with clean earth, and that is by striking the earth with their hands and wiping their faces and their hands with it. Allah the Exalted said:
But if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women and do not find water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and hands with it
[Al-Ma'idah 5:6]
. And among people are those who are lax in purifying themselves from ritual impurity. You will find a man urinating and then getting up from his urine without being thorough in its purification. As for water, its purification is easy; a person washes the head of the male organ until he is convinced in his mind that he has purified himself. This is easy. Do not think that the matter is difficult. If a drop of urine falls on a smooth floor and you pour water over it, this urine will run off in the first pour of water, or perhaps in the second. Likewise, urine on the head of the male organ does not require great effort. Perhaps in three or four times, you will be convinced in your mind that the place is clean. As for what some people do, squeezing and straining and being severe until their urine comes out, until the last of their urine comes out, this is a mistake. This is a mistake, because this is what causes urinary incontinence in a person.
Likewise, you will find some people wiping the urethra from its base to the head of the male organ on the pretext that they want to expel the remaining urine in the urethra. This is also a mistake. Neither the first nor the second is correct; both are religious innovations and an excessive depth in the religion of Allah, Mighty and Majestic. How many are those who are afflicted with obsessive doubts or urinary incontinence when they do such an action.
The matter is easy. If you are convinced in your mind that you have purified the head of the male organ from urine, the matter is finished. There is no need to squeeze it or to strain to expel what remains.
