Fatwa No. ( 1116 )
Q: The Cairo radio and the Kuwait radio broadcasted that Sunday is the day of the festival and that he broke his fast on that day, while the Riyadh radio broadcasted that the festival is on Monday. What is required of him?
A1: If the person seeking a ruling is a resident in our country, Saudi Arabia, on the night and day of Sunday, he must adhere to the fact that Sunday is a day of Ramadan, because it has not been established in other countries that it is the first day of Shawwal. Therefore, he must make up that day, seek forgiveness for deviating from the Muslims in our country, and not return to such an act. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
