The excuse for missing the congregational prayer due to danger

The first question of Fatwa No. ( 6882 )
Q1: During the months of Hajj, I am sent by my authority to the border, accompanied by approximately eighty people. We are required to remain stationed at our work location. We have weapons and equipment, and there is a mosque nearby, about 300 meters away. Many of the people with me go to the mosque to pray, but I, in my capacity as the person in charge, prevent them from going to the mosque and ask them to pray at their stationing site, fearing that something might happen. Only about
ten people pray with me, while the rest go to the mosque, claiming that they have no prayer except in the mosque. I ask you to inform me and clarify the correct legal ruling.
A1: It is permissible for you to pray in congregation at your locations on the border, and it is not obligatory for you to go if there is danger in your going to the mosque. However, if there is no danger, it is obligatory to pray in the mosque, because it is obligatory to pray in congregation in the mosque, in accordance with the scriptural evidence. There is no harm in keeping those whom the need requires to be kept as guards. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
