Encouraging the completion of wudu'
The second question of fatwa number ( 6969 ) Q 2: Does this hadith agree with this verse from the Qur'an: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: تبلغ الحلية من أمتي حيث بلغه الوضوء، ومن استطاع منكم أن يطيله فليفعل The adornment of my Ummah extends to wherever the wudu' extends, and whoever among you is able to lengthen it, let him do so , and the Qur'an says: يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا قُمْتُمْ إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ فَاغْسِلُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ وَأَيْدِيَكُمْ إِلَى الْمَرَافِقِ وَامْسَحُوا بِرُءُوسِكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ إِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles[Al-Ma'idah 5:6]
A 2: Praise be to Allah alone, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions.. And after: This hadith agrees with what came in the verse:
O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا قُمْتُمْ إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ فَاغْسِلُوا وُجُوهَكُمْso he who can increase the lustre of his forehead (and that of his hands and legs) should do so.
فمن استطاع أن يطيل غرته فليفعلand the whiteness of his face
وتحجيله(may Allah be pleased with him). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
