The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 4256 )
Q5: Regarding the supplication in the funeral prayer using the singular masculine form, should it be pluralized when praying for the dead, dualized when praying for two, and feminized when praying for a female?
A5: It is pluralized, dualized, and feminized according to the person for whom the prayer is performed. If the deceased is unknown, it is permissible to use the masculine form with the intention of the deceased, and the feminine form with the intention of the funeral.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
