The second question of Fatwa No. ( 1542 ):
Q2: What is the interpretation of this verse:[Ali 'Imran 3:6] ?
A2: After describing Himself as the One to whom there is no god but He, the Living who does not die, and the Sustainer of the affairs of His servants, such that they have no existence and no stability in their conditions except by Him, despite His being in no need of them, and as the All-Knowing of every thing, nothing being hidden from Him on earth or in the heavens, He established the proof for this by stating that He alone is the One who creates people in the wombs of their mothers as He wills, in various forms and different conditions: male and female, handsome and ugly, wretched and happy. There is no god but He; to Him belongs might and perfect power and dominance, and to Him belongs the perfect wisdom in everything He legislated, created, decreed, and predestined. Among this is His creation of 'Isa and His decree that his mother carry him without a father, and that he be a sign for people of the perfection of Allah's knowledge, power, and wisdom. Just as He created Adam from dust and said to him, "Be," and he was, as Allah willed. Therefore, they have no right to worship; rather, worship is the right of the Lord of the worlds alone, who has no partner. There is no god but He, the Mighty who
cannot be overcome and from whom nothing is beyond His capability, the Wise in His management, creation, and legislation. It also contains a refutation of the Christians who claim that 'Isa (peace be upon him) is the son of Allah; for it is Allah who depicted him in the womb of his mother Maryam, so how can he be His son or a god alongside Him? Exalted is Allah above that by a great exaltation. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
Q2: What is the interpretation of this verse:
It is He who forms you in the wombs however He wills. There is no deity except Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
